Laura Batllori

Since graduating in Hispanic Philology, with training as an ELE (Spanish as a foreign language) teacher, I’ve specialised in teaching Catalan and Spanish, working in several language schools – both with groups and as a private tutor in Girona, Barcelona, Edinburgh, London and Lisbon. I’ve worked with all the levels of CEFR and am certified by the Cervantes Institute as a DELE examiner for B1-B2 levels.

As well as teaching languages, I’ve trained and worked in many aspects of theatre – performing, directing, producing and writing.

In fact, LIVING THE LANGUAGE was created to combine my two greatest passions – teaching and performing arts.

I consider myself a curious person who loves to learn and meet people from all over the world. I started LIVING THE LANGUAGE because I love teaching, believe in what I’m doing and I really hope you’ll be part of it!

WHY LIVING THE LANGUAGE?

I believe that we learn quicker and better if the learning experience is both fun and meaningful, with activities to help reinforce it. I know I do!

The idea of LIVING THE LANGUAGE started in England during a work placement as an assistant to an English puppeteer. Spending three months both working and living with her helped me enormously – not just with my English and puppeteer skills, but to feel more at home with the world and culture I was living in. This was my first residential learning experience and I loved every minute of it!

At LIVING THE LANGUAGE, I create a similar experience by inviting you to live with me and focus on your language in the relaxing atmosphere of my home.

WHERE IS LIVING THE LANGUAGE?

LIVING THE LANGUAGE takes place in my own house on the outskirts of Girona, Catalonia, Spain, where there are two spacious, single rooms (each one with double bed) available with private study areas in case you’d like to share the experience with a friend. I have a quiet garden – perfect for enjoying summer evenings and early mornings – and a cosy living room with an open fire.
